Survey 4: The Best Hot Chocolate In Town?

I love having hot chocolate on a cold winter day, but on my trips to Paris I have rarely experienced a day chilly enough to make me think of this decadent drink.

Hot Chocolate at Cafe de la Paix

If there is any place on earth to enjoy a true chocolat chaud, it’s Paris. Creamy melted chocolate with a bit of cream, this is not the hot chocolate that you might remember from your childhood. This is grown up hot chocolate.

I love having hot chocolate on a cold winter day, but on my trips to Paris I have rarely experienced a day chilly enough to make me think of this decadent drink. But one such day I stopped in at the Opera House and remembered that someone had recently told me about the hot chocolate across the street at Cafe de la Paix.

It was nice enough to sit outside on the terasse, so I indulged myself. See above :)

Which cafe in Paris serves up the best chocolat chaud? What makes it so special? Don’t forget to tell us the name of the cafe and the address!

I experienced my first Parisian cup of ‘hot chocolate’ a few weeks ago at Cafe Angelina on Rue de Rivoli. It rich & delicious but, I could not finish the drink. It is more like a melted candy bar with a dab of cream. Americans are light-weights when it comes to ‘hot chocolate’ and coffee!
