The Paris Museum Pass

Paris Museum Pass provides ‘no-wait’ access, to the permanent collections of over 60 Paris museums and monuments.

Valid for (price in Euros if you buy after you get to Paris):

2 consecutive days:30 Euros

4 consecutive days:45 Euros

6 consecutive days: 60 Euros

It is available under the pyramid in the Louvre lobby, in the other museums and monuments accepting the pass, in all main Metro stations and at the Paris Tourist Information Office.

The Paris Museum Pass is not valid for temporary exhibitions and don’t forget that most museums are already free for kids under 18 years of age.

Admissions vary depending on what you want to see.

Affectionately known to the French as ‘Beau-Beau’, this building, with its exposed conduit, plumbing and large windows holds the permanent collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, which is not to be confused with the collection at the Palais du Tokyo. The Centre Pompidou also displays rotating exhibits, has a reading library, a great bookstore, a cinema and performing arts space and is known as well for it’s collection of street performers who entertain the tourists of Paris outside on its sloping plaza.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this museum are its solar shutters in the windows. They have traveling exhibitions of art, and images from the Arab world as well as an extensive permanent collection of Islamic written and art works in both the galleries and in the library.

Musée National Eugène Delacroix

This is the last studio and home of the artist Eugène Delacroix. He lived here from 1798 until 1863.


Musée Atelier du Sculpteur Henri Bouchard

Museum created out of the studio of artist/sculptor Henri Bouchard. The web site includes a list of the artist’s works that are in the public domain.

The Louvre is steeped in history — 800 years of it, and that is only the building that holds the collections of one of the first musems in Europe. Formerly a medieval fortress and the palace of kings, the museum holds seven collections dating from the antiquities to the mid-1800s.

The Musée National du Moyen-Age sits on two historic sites: the Gallo-Roman baths from the beginning of the last millennium and the 15th century residence of the Abbots of Cluny. The museum holds many of the original sculptures from the façade of Notre Dame Cathedral as well as illuminated manuscripts, reliqueries, medieval objets d’art and the famous tapestries which include ‘The Lady and the Unicorn’.

The museum is OPEN on Easter Sunday. The museum is CLOSED on May 1.

The rue de Lille was once the central lane of the garden belonging to Henri IV’s famous queen, Marguerite de Valois. You may know of her from the movie ‘Queen Margot’. Upon her death in 1615, the property was sold off by lots to pay off her debts. The train station was not built on the site until 1900 and in 1979 the plans were drawn for the Musée d’Orsay which now houses the Impressionist collection from the old Jeu du Paume and some of the work from the later 1800s that had been in the Louvre.

The ultimate collection on Picasso and his contemporaries. There are both temporary and permanent galleries. The permanent collection shows the visual path that Picasso led throughout his life to create his work.

The Musée Rodin is housed in the 18th century Biron Residence. The residence was bought by the City of Paris in 1911 and was made into the Musée Rodin by public decree in 1919, two years after the artist’s death. The house holds many of Rodin’s beautiful sculptures as well as a few by his students and outside, the gardens provide a soothing place to walk and enjoy the artist’s domain.
